The Challenge

The objective was to achieve reduced costs via reduced energy consumption and maintenance across the 650 store chain. Main concerns were:

• Poor asset information
• Difficulty in getting correct stock to site
• Concern regarding paying margin to distributor & installation contractor
• Rising energy costs
• Maintenance cost levels
• Issues with European distribution

The Solution

• A bespoke survey was carried out at every location and a total quantity of 10,000 LED lamps and GU10 fittings, and 3,500 PAR30 lamps were recommended to replace existing lighting and achieve energy and cost savings.
• Rexel’s multiple locations were used to hold consignment stock at branch level.
• New Look were set up to purchase direct from Rexel and free-issue to the installer.
• Longer-life products were guaranteed to reduce maintenance costs.
